Hebei Manufacturing

The first Design Week of 2018 was hosted by the People's Government of Hebei Province, Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei Province, the Administrative Committee of Xiongan New Area, and the Hebei Industrial Design Innovation Center. It was co-organized by well-known professional organizations in the international design field, including the Industrial Designers Society of America(IDSA), Swedish Industrial Design Association, Ornamo, Danish Association of Architects, Taiwan Design Center. The Design Week also invites the world's top designers, cutting-edge scientists, innovative business leaders and forward-looking investors to discuss the cross-border symbiosis of technology, design and business. Through the diversified thinking of industrial design, architectural design, graphic design, interior design, and the whole industry, from the perspective of the world, based on the advantages of Hebei resources, the Design Week is aimed at realizing the design transaction, building the service chain with design as the core, improving people's livelihood, enhancing urban competitiveness and serving the national strategy, so as to achieve deep integration of creative design and industry.

With the theme of “Design Force Brightens the City of the Future”, Hebei International Industrial Design Week 2018 chooses Finland as the partner country, combing the Finnish design style with the urban development of Xiongan New Area, bringing together the Nordic design appreciation of function and beauty. It gathers design innovation forces in more than 30 countries and regions such as Finland, Britain, the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Israel, Ireland, and Taiwan. Through the Finnish Design Day, Global Design & Scientific Innovation Summit, Design Station: Splendid Design Night, One Village One Product: Japanese Design Sharing Salon, New Design Products Launch Conference, Industrial Design Innovation Achievement Exhibition, Design & Innovation Tour and International Pioneer Design Experience Pavilion and other interchange activities to communicate with the city of the future by design × technology force, gathering Director of the Design Museum Finland Jukka Savolainen, World-renowned Architect and Industrial Designer Masayuki Kurokawa and President-elect of the World Design Organization Srini Srinivasan, CEO OF Nippon Design Center Kenya Hara, Chief Technology Officer of Alibaba Group Wang Jian, Founder of Xiaomi Technology Lei Jun, the CEO of Private Case Oy Ari Korolainen and other domestic and foreign industrial masters, presenting design innovative trends, appreciating global advanced design works and creating the first global design feast in Hebei Province.

  1. Globalization

As the fisrt one design feast, HIDW takes Finland as partner country gathering design power from Finland, UK, US, Japan, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Israel, Taiwan and other 30 countries and regions. Hebei innovation connects with international design with the window of Xiongan New Area. Finnland ambassador to China will lead a delegation with 40 people, and international guests reach over 60 people. 

2. Top Designers

Industrial Design Masters, Heads of design agencies, Founders of well-known technology company, founder of leading Internet enterprises and heads of famous international investment agencies from Finland, US, Germany, Israel, France, UK, Japan, Singapore and Chinese designers, head of design agencies, founder of well-known technology company, founder of leading Internet enterprises and head of famous investment agencies are invited. There are 131 international and domestic exhibitors, wherein 45 international exhibitors, 56 domestic exhibitors from Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Shenzhen and 50 Hebei local exhibitors. Jukka Savolainen, Director of the Design Museum Finland, Srini Srinivasan, President-elect of World Design Organization, Masayuki Kurokawa, World-Renowned Architect and Industrial Designers and other international design masters, Wang Jian, Chairman of Alibaba Group Technology Comittee, Hu Weiwei, Founder & CEO of Mobile and Chen Yan, General Manager of User Research Experience Design Department of Tencent, Dan Jie, President and CEO of YANJIYOU and other guests in the fields of technology, Internet, culture and art are gathered in Hebei.

3. Main Venue

Xiongan New Area is the city of the future, which is a new area with national significance after Shenzhen and Pudong District of Shanghai. It is milennium plan and national event, meeting the standards of "World vision, international standards, Chinese characteristics, high goals", so that it is significant that the main venue of Hebei International Design Week locates in Xiongan New Area.
