Jarno Syrjälä is the ambassador of Finland to PRC. He graduated from University of Vaasa. From 2010 to 2013, He served as the ambassador of Finland to Riyadh.

Kikkawa Miki established the Spiritual Heritage of the General Corporation and the City Creation Education Foundation and served as Director. Tay Ung is the CXO - Chief Experience Officer of UnionSquare, a design studio in Shenzhen, the silicon valley of hardware.He graduated from RCA London with an MA in Computer Related Design. His career started out at the tender age of 16 as an Industrial Designer. From that point onwards he has been addicted to design. His experiences spans over two decades crossing paths with global companies such as Panasonic, Sony, LG, Apple, Huawei, Ericsson and Cisco - building software and hardware. Along the way he has built several design teams from the ground-up, as well as contributing to innovative new products.A love for technically complex projects coupled with fast-changing consumer needs and highly competitive business landscape is what drives him to creating better simplified full product solutions for clients that want to solve real business needs. AI, Big Data married with great UX is his core capability.

Victor Declety is CEO and Co-founder of UnionSquare, a design studio in Shenzhen, the silicon valley of hardware. He graduated from ISD France - International School of Design with an MA in Industrial Design, Service and Management. The start of his career began at Harman International China at the Lifestyle Division for Premium Consumer Audio Product working on JBL and Harman Kardon products. Winning several prestigious prizes with the likes of Red Dot Design Award, IF Design Award, Red Star Design Award and CES Design & Innovation Award further cemented his love for industrial design products. Joining Fenda Technology two years later, as the Chief Industrial Designer to build a new design team. He directed the team to create the Fenda Brand, OEM products for global clients such as Lenovo, Huawei and Tencent. Since 2016 he has established and built up his design studio - UnionSquare.

Nicolas Cinguino is one of founders of Blank Group. Working in China for nearly 15 years, he is a pioneer in Chinese design methodology and a multicultural design management expert in brand building and development.He specializes in design strategies, Chinese consumer research, user experience design (UED), co-creation workshops, public speaking and cross-cultural collaboration, etc. He began his career in Shanghai as an industrial designer. Arthur Limpens is co-founder of Shanghai Allocacoc Industrial Design Co.,Ltd., graduated from Technische Universiteit Delft and establishes Allocacoc. He is responsible for developing market and initial sales, and now focuses on ensuring that design is the core of the company's development through the establishment of Allocacoc DesignNest. The company currently employs more than 300 people and has offices in Shanghai (China), Delft (Netherlands), Tokyo (Japan) and Costa Mesa (USA) and sells its products all over the world. Customers include Walmart, OBI, Mediamarkt and Tesco. The company has won awards including the Shell LiveWIRE Award (2012), Red Dot Award (2014), GIO Award (2014), Computex D&I Award (2015), iF (2018) and Outstanding Design Award (2018).

Hannu Pöppönen is a 52 year-old journalist, author and design professor at School of Art and Designof Guangdong Universityof Technology. He has been working atthe university since 2015. Until the year 2018, he worked as visiting professor and after that as aprofessor, teaching fordesign and art history, introductory courses to design and academic writing. Part of his work is to edit the school’s Englishcolumn of theuniversity journal.He was working for 18 years at the biggest newspaper in Finlandat the cultural section,responsible for design and architecturecriticism. Since 2014,he has been working as afreelancer journalist, writing about design for various media in Finland.He also has published books in Finland. The latest is called Designkuplia (Designbubbles), that was published by the University of Art and Design. It is a critical bookabout contemporary Finnish design. He was writing for example about the problems withinternationalizing Finnish design, about branding it in a new wayand importance ofstorytelling in branding.

Anu Puustinen studied at University of Art and Design Helsinki and TU Delft Netherlands before graduating as Master of Science from Aalto University in 2004. Before starting her own office with Ville Hara she worked at Helsinki City Building Control Department and Helsinki City Planning Departmentof SARC Architects. On the side of working in her own office she has been teaching at Aalto University. Anu is passionate about architecture and wants to develop her projects to be perfect, working hard even on smallest details. She has impeccable taste and she doesn't give up until she is fully satisfied with the results.

Ari Korolainen is a Finnish architect and designer who was one of the first designers who used recycled materials in his designs. In 1985,he started to make cases and stationery products of recycled cardboard. Today he also uses recycled leather commonly in his designs. Good design and environmentally friendly materials can be seen in his Private Case stationery collection. Now, 30 years later, Private Case is a large collection of stationery products and Korolainen is known as Mr Private Case. Furniture design is his another ambition.

Tapani Hyvönen graduated as an industrial designer from the present Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. In 1976, he founded the design agency “Destem Ltd.” and was co-founder of ED-Design Ltd. in 1990. He has served as CEO and president of both agencies until 2013. He has been a visiting professor at Guangdong University of Technology in Guangzhou and Donghua University in Shanghai, China. His many award-winning designs, for which e.g. he was honoured with the Industrial Designer of the Year Award of the Finnish Association of Industrial Designers TKO in 1991 and the Pro Finnish Design Award by the Design Forum Finland, are part of the collections of the Design Museum Helsinki and the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York. Tapani Hyvönen was an advisory board member of the Design Leadership Programme at the University of Art and Design Helsinki 1989–2000, and a board member of the World Design Organization (formerly Icsid) 1999–2003 and 2009–2013. He was president of the Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo 2009–2012 and a board member of the Finnish Design Museum 2011–2017.

Srini has more than 25 years of professional experience in creative design; user experience design; telecom and wireless product design and development; company formation and venture capital raising; global marketing and sales management; manufacturing and operations. He is a member of various professional bodies, namely WiMAX, WDC2014, Innovations Judge, CES 2012, Usability Panel Member, IEEE, CES 2013. Currently Srini is the President and CEO of LUMIUM, Inc., a creative design company that designs and delivers complete solutions in consumer electronics, smart devices, medical devices, housewares, and UE design for global clients. He has established business partnerships in many parts of the world using his extensive global network of contacts.

Masayuki Kurokawa is an architect and thinker. He was born into a family of architects, graduated from Waseda University in Architecture, and got the title “PhD of Art”, which is the only one in Japanese history. Several of his works are collected in Museum of Modern art in New York, the Denver Art Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He is currently president of K&K Co.,Ltd. and is the member of Japan Architecture Association, Japan Architects Association, Japan Design Committee, Japan Decoration Design Forum and chairman of the Japan Industrial Designers Association, and holds the position of professor at the Graduate School of Art at the University of Japan.

Jukka Savolainen is the Director of Design Museum in Helsinki, Finland. The Design Museum is the National Specialty Museum of Design and it houses the National Collection of Design in Finland. Mr. Savolainen has a long history in the museum and design fields, having forked previously as the Deputy Director and Exhibitions Curator at the Design Museum and as the Director of Research & Information at Material ConneXion in New York. Trained as an art historian at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, his research interest’s span from contemporary design to national design policies and design driven decision making. He has written numerous articles on Finnish Design and global design trends and edited books on Finnish design and acted as a consultant for design events and businesses.

Wei joined Whipsaw in 2014 and has been busy with a huge variety of projects for most of our clients. Prior to joining Whipsaw Wei worked at Wilddesign, a design firm in Shanghai, where he is from.Although Wei aspires to the established form-follows-function and form follow emotion approaches to design, he also loves getting out of his comfort zone as a way to learn and enrich himself as a designer. He helped design router for TP-LINK, AI vending machine for Vicki, Slot Machines for Aristocrat, Communication Device for Tait International and others. Wei graduated from the Academy of Art University in 2014 with an Industrial Design MFA degree. He also has a design degree from Northwestern Polytechnic University in Xi’an China.

Heidi leads the Operations department at Whipsaw where she works to ensure seamless communication, collaboration and strategic planning. She was an early contributor to the founding of Whipsaw, having created the organizational and financial structure of the company in the early 2000’s.Prior to Whipsaw, Heidi was an accomplished Industrial Designer and held design positions at Tandem Computers, Index Design, Human Factors ID (NYC), and Kato/Gobe/Hearst. Heidi graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Design Architecture and Art in 1982.

Hu Yanli, the National Chief Editor of NetEase Home and NetEase Design, the expert & consultant of C FOUNDATION, Deputy Secretary-General of China Interior Decoration Association Art Professional Committee. She has accumulated thick industrial experience and broad networking in the home field. Personally, Hu boasts several years of media operation experience in this aspect. Guo Zhenjiang graduated from University College London (UCL) in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Architecture. In the same year, he joined ZAHA HADID ARCHITECTS as an architect until 2017. His duty covers the design, fabrication and construction of city, architecture, interior, furniture and products. Major projects include the Guangzhou Opera House, the Innovation Building of Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Meixi Lake International Cultural and Art Center in Changsha.
